The Venice American Legion Post 159 is donating all the proceeds from its annual Veterans Golf Open to State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota. The money will be used for $1,000 scholarships for veterans looking to attend SCF Venice. The proceeds from this year’s golf outing were around $6500. Officials say that, combined with previous donations, will keep the scholarships going for more than six years
