SARASOTA, Fla. – Brian Laundries’s former family attorney has been added as a co-defendant in lawsuit against the Laundrie family filed by the Petito family.
Petito was reported missing by her family in September after she embarked on a cross-country trip with Brian Laundrie, her fiancé.
Laundrie, who returned to the couple’s North Port, Florida, home in early September without Petito, left the home roughly two weeks later and disappeared, sparking a weekslong search for him in a vast Florida nature reserve.
The Laundrie’s parents are being sued by Nicole Schmidt and Joseph Petito Gabby’s parents. They alleged that the Laundries knew their daughter was dead but withheld information from law enforcement.
Gabby’s remains were discovered on September, 19th 2021
The civil jury trial is scheduled in Sarasota County court in August 2023.
