The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office has charged a man with kidnapping. Early Sunday morning, deputies responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in Port Charlotte. A witness told them that a male and female were involved and that the female had been threatened by the male and was forcibly taken from the area in a silver Subaru Forester. After a bulletin was issued, the vehicle and its occupants were found several hours later in Sarasota County. 24-year-old Thomas Frankenberger the Fourth was taken into custody by Sarasota County deputies for driving with a suspended license. Charlotte County authorities have since charged Frankenberger with one count each of kidnapping, battery and aggravated battery. The female victim was treated for minor injuries and released from a local hospital.
