Jury selection is underway in the trial of a former Sarasota County Sheriff’s deputy charged with attempted murder. The case got underway with jury selection Monday morning in the case against Frank Bybee. The former cop faces 20 felony charges- prosecutors say he allegedly befriended an elderly woman, stole her money, then tried to kill her when she found about the money. He then tried to make the attempted killing look like a suicide. His defense is claiming the elderly woman has mental health issues. He has pled not guilty.
