The owner of Jetty Jack’s, the snack bar at the South Jetty that’s replacing Anita’s Sandcastle, hopes to be open for business next month. Chris Johnson told the Herald-Tribune he got all the necessary construction permits earlier this month and hopes for a soft opening within a few weeks. After 17 years, the city of Venice decided to put operation of the concession up for bid, marking the end of Anita Deans’ time as the owner of Anita’s Sandcastle.
