A 35-year-old North Port man has been arrested on three felony charges involving inappropriate activity with a minor. Through a lengthy investigation, North Port police say detectives were able to determine that Brian Shearer fondled, sent obscene material, and gave alcohol to a 14-year-old girl. Shearer is facing charges of lewd and lascivious behavior, distribution of obscene material, interference with custody of a minor, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was arrested without incident after turning himself in Thursday morning. In a Facebook post, the North Port Police Department says it is dedicated to protecting its youngest citizens. They say they’ll find out and will investigate to the fullest.
