The city of North Port is reporting that illegal dumping, especially of large items, is once again becoming an issue.
In the southeast portions of the city, it’s not uncommon to see couches and old furniture left to rot on back roads or vacant land.
City officials are reminding people that bulk pickup is available through the city’s public works department.
Director Michael Fear told ABC-7 the dumpers seem to know where city garbage and public works crews don’t get out to often, and leave their trash there.
