Management officials fear that cleanup after Irma may take longer than anticipated due to lack of available workers. Sarasota Emergency Management has stated that the Suncoast area is experiencing a shortage of companies that are available to remove the debris leaf over from the devastating storm. Subcontractors are the real problem as Sarasota County has an agreement with one company, but that company has been unable to find a sufficient number of other companies to begin to get the area back to normal. The pay rate is the issue according to the county. Sarasota County reportedly pays a much later rate than others. Residents are being ask to pack your patience as the recovery is expected to be a slow one.
