The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the assistance of the public in solving a Home Invasion and Attempted Sexual Assault case. It occurred last Thursday night aroudn 9:05 on Carmen Street in Punta Gorda. The victim told investigators that she answered a knock on her door and was confronted by a dark skinned black male, about 25 years old, 6-feet tall with a medium build. The suspect was wearing white gym type shorts, white lace up sneakers and a dark colored windbreaker type jacket with a hood, with possible pockets on the upper front. The suspect attempted to sexually assault the victim without success and demanded money. An unspecified amount of cash was taken.
