A North Port family was not injured, but did receive rabies treatment after a bobcat invaded their home. The Sun reports it happened Friday at a residence off Salinas Street in IslandWalk. An officer with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission also received medical treatment; the officer was scratched on the arm while wrangling the bobcat. The animal was taken to the state health department for Sarasota County, where it was found to have rabies, accounting for its aggressive behavior, and was euthanized.
