High grass and weeds have been a source of irritation for residents who live near Panacea and Plantation Boulevards in North Port. Last month, the city commission voted to mow the Panacea section and then look into taking over maintenance of that area. But the city of North Port said the Plantation section is the responsibility of private owners. Today, commissioners are scheduled to consider an ordinance amending the City Code to state that it is unlawful for any owner to have excessive growth over 12 inches on an improved or developed lot.
