The opioid problem that is running crazy across the United States has Florida Governor Rick Scott taking extra steps to battle the issue. Bradenton was the place where Scott got together with law enforcement and others to discuss the next step in fighting the problem. A state of emergency has been declared due to the number of overdoses that continue to take place. Also, criminal penalties continue to go up in Florida for those who use opioids. Scott has promised that the next legislative session will be heavy on opioid discussion. An effort to place a three day limit on prescribed opioids, with medical exemptions are necessary. Scott is also pushing for doctors to continue to learn more about the issue and for law enforcement and officials to spot management clinics.
