The special election for the 72nd District House seat set a record for turnout in a Florida House special election…more than 44,000 people cast ballots in the race, good for a turnout of 36 percent. And the race last night was called fairly early- just before 8 o’clock, Democrat Margaret Good was named the winner of the seat, beating Republican James Buchanan by a 52-44 percent margin. They, along with Libertarian Alison Foxall were fighting for the seat vacated when Republican Alex Miller stepped down just months into the job.
