Get Ready for Hurricane Season at North Port’s Hurricane Expo

NORTH PORT, FLAs hurricane season approaches, the City of North Port is inviting residents to get prepared at its annual Hurricane Expo, happening Friday, May 31, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the George Mullen Activity Center, 1602 Kramer Way.

This free community event is designed for everyone—from newcomers to seasoned Floridians—and offers valuable information to help you stay safe and ready in the event of a storm.

Presentations and Resources
Experts from the National Weather Service, North Port Emergency Management, and Sarasota County Emergency Management will share insights on storm preparedness and emergency response. Representatives from city departments, including Stormwater Management, will also be available to discuss how they help the community before, during, and after a hurricane.

Expo Highlights
Attendees can explore a wide range of vendor booths featuring:

  • Hurricane protection products like windows and shutters

  • Local volunteer organizations including Red Cross and Kiwanis

  • Informative displays from Florida Power & Light, including their mobile response trailer
