Gas prices have jumped significantly in Florida and with summer lurking the numbers are only expected to go up. In the last month, prices have risen by as much as 20 cents per gallon. According to AAA, the price could go as high as $2.70 per gallon. The least expensive in Venice is at the Gulf, where the price sits at $2.34 per gallon. Most other stations range from $2.38-$2.40. In North Port, the lowest is $2.38 and in Englewood, the least expensive is $2.35. Demand for gasoline is up while supplies of refined gasoline are down as refineries start the switch to summer blends, which is scheduled to be complete by May 1.
