Gas prices jumped a nickel overnight across the Suncoast Tuesday, as the local market seems to be finally responding to higher oil prices. The average price for a gallon of regular gas in the Bradenton-Sarasota-Venice market was $2.48 on Tuesday, after holding steady around $2.43 for two weeks, according to a report from AAA. Regional prices at the pump are now 11 cents higher than both a month ago and last year. Locally, prices range from a low of $2.39 in North Port to $2.65 in Port Charlotte.
