US-41 was closed for parts of Tuesday afternoon after a gas leak caused both road closures and evacuations. A large gas line was severed in the 1700 block of Tamiami Trail near Shamrock Blvd. around 1:30 yesterday afternoon. Businesses and homes in the nearby area were forced to evacuate while the line was repaired. Everything was reopened and people were allowed to return by around 2:45.
