The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is trying to help with the red tide problem across Southwest Florida.
Cleanup rules are being waived for the removal of dead fish from areas in Collier, Lee, Charlotte, Sarasota, Manatee, Hillsborough and Pinellas counties.
The change will speed up the removal of dead fish – regardless of bag, size, or possession limits or of season or area closures – from shoreline, inshore or nearshore areas.
People are being asked to report sick, injured or dead marine life to the FWC Wildlife Alert Hotline at 1-888-404-3922.
