Although free and reduced school lunches are being threatened as part of the partial government shutdown, Suncoast students won’t go hungry. Both Manatee and Sarasota County Schools will have their free and reduced lunch programs funded through at least the end of March by the federal government. Then after that, both districts plan on using reserve funds, if necessary, to make sure students are fed through the end of the school year.
