A former employee of a Sarasota YMCA has been arrested for stealing from the childcare program. Samantha Banting was with the company as childcare director since September of 2013 and was in charge of the YMCA’s accounts. An internal audit showed numerous errors regarding childcare transactions and it was determined that over $17 thousand was unaccounted for from June 2014 to July 2016. Banting was arrested on November 15th, 2017.
