Shore Point Hospital in downtown Venice, Florida has a new owner, but he identity of the company that bought the ShorePoint Health Venice hospital building is unclear. It is rumored that the intention is to reopen it, probably but not definitely for health care services, and not as a hospital.
The new owner has a lot of interests, said broker Adam Seidel, of American Property Group. “This particular buyer has a number of interests,” he said. “They want to re–open the hospital. We don’t know what it’s going to be used for yet.”
The building has been empty since October 2019 when ShorePoint, formerly owned by Doctor’s Choice of Florida, closed its doors because of hardships caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The new owner is doing its due diligence, said Seidel, and deciding on the future of the facility. “The building is in very good condition and looks great,” he said. “They’re looking at the options available from either a health care service use or some other medical office building type use.
