More bad news has landed on the lap of the former Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office deputy who has been accused of attempted murder. Frankie Bybee’s trial is set for Sept. 5, but will likely be delayed after his attorney has withdrawn for a second time in the case. Bjorn Brunvand filed documents stating he will not be available to represent the former deputy in the case. This follows Bybee’s first attorney, Charles Britt, who also withdrew citing a conflict of interest in the case. That happened in February. Bybee is also charged with elderly exploitation after he bilked a woman out of roughly $65,000 and then tried to kill her by shoving pills down her throat and attempting to make it look like a suicide.
