The number of homes with foreclosure filings has dropped in the region.
RealtyTrac reports that number in Sarasota and Manatee counties has fallen 54 percent in the first half of this year compared to the same period last year.
However, it says that area still has the 98th highest rate among the 216 largest metros in the nation.
Foreclosures have dropped by 34 percent in Charlotte County over the last year.
