Away from the big stage in Cleveland, Jeb Bush’s decision not to attend the Republican National Convention remains a notable topic of discussion.

Some have expressed disappointment that the former governor has decided not to support Donald Trump, even though Bush promised earlier to throw his weight behind the party’s nominee.

Charlotte County GOP chairman Bill Folchi has described Bush to USA Today as “an extreme disappointment.”

Folchi says Bush has lost his support “now and in the future.” He claims the party worked hard for him, but Bush just didn’t have what the voters wanted.

State Sen. Lizbeth Benacquisto has chosen not to second-guess Bush. She calls what everyone chooses to do “a very personal matter.”
