Florida State has suspended operation of all fraternities and sororities on campus after the death of a 20-year-old was killed during an off-campus party Friday. Authorities are investigating if alcohol was a factor, but no cause of death has been determined yet. University president John Thrasher announced the indefinite suspension at a news conference Monday. None of the Greek organizations will be able to accept new members. President Thrasher also banned alcohol at all student events, including those outside of the Greek community.
