The Florida Legislature has one more day of work remaining and is spending millions of dollars to try and satisfy the school safety concerns that have come up since the Parkland shooting. The new state budget is in its grasp with increases on education, conservation, but may avoid cuts to hospitals. The bill is approaching $87 million and is expected to be voted on over the weekend or Monday. Per pupil spending will increase by $101, $100 million is expected for the Florida Forever conservation programs and $400 million is expected regarding the hot-button topic of school safety.
