A trip to Everglades proved much more of an excursion that one Florida lawmaker expected late last week. United States Congressman Francis Rooney was with a group of hunters when they tripped on five invasive Burmese Pythons. Rooney was alongside a number of hunters hired by the South Florida Water Management District. The district has hired the hunters for little cost to try and remove the snakes from the Everglades because they are killing large numbers of native mammals. Rooney was there to understand more about the importance of continued funding of the hunting program.
