Five people were injured after a multi-vehicle crash shut down southbound I-75 for nearly two hours Wednesday afternoon. Multiple agencies, including the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office and Florida Highway Patrol, were called to the River Road exit around noon. When on scene, police found four cars and a semi truck involved in a large wreck. In all, five people were hurt- four of the five were treated at the scene. Only one person had to be taken to an area hospital.
