Tuesday, Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Pizza Hut located at 3068 Tamiami Trail in reference to a terminated employee who refused to leave the establishment. 25-year-old Delano Mathurin was in an office and told the boss he wasn’t leaving. When deputies attempted to place him in handcuffs, he began to struggle away and physically resist. Once secured in handcuffs, Mathurin again attempted to flee on foot while being placed in a patrol vehicle. He was arrested and charged with resisting an officer without violence, and trespassing.
