Crews in Charlotte County take on a structure fire. Officials tell reporters the resident of the Alan Blvd. home could hear popping sounds coming from his garage…that’s when he discovered that was the source of the fire and quickly got out…with his dog…after calling 911. He took a try at fighting the flames himself but that failed. He now has minor burns and needed to be treated at an area hospital. The house is not fit to live in now, so the Red Cross is helping the resident out. The State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze.
