Fire crews in Charlotte County responded to yet another brush fire in Punta Gorda Monday afternoon. Crews were called to the area around State Road 31 and Horseshoe Road- near the location of a Sunday fire. The fire was slowly moving outside the area burn lines from the fire on Sunday. According to the Florida Forest Service, the size of the fire expanded to just over 3 acres outside of the fire burn lines from Sunday. It was nearly 100 percent contained by around 4pm.
