A weekend fire at the Charlotte County Sports Park caused minor damage, but ended up burning through a water line that would wind up extinguishing the fire.
Fire officials in Port Charlotte were called to the sports park on El Jobean Road around 3:30pm on Sunday. The building was full of smoke when firefighters got on scene.
Officials say the fire began in the laundry room and burned through a washing machine water supply line.
No one was injured in the incident.
