A North Port teenager was involved in a 2-car crash Wednesday after she hydroplaned and rear-ended the patrol car of a Florida Highway Patrol trooper. The 17-year old was driving on State Highway 45 around 6pm when she failed to stop near the intersection of 45 and Rockley Boulevard. Her small Chevy went into the back of the trooper’s car. He was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital in North Port for minor injuries. Neither the 17-year old nor her 15-year old passenger were injured.
