Police in Port Charlotte are looking for a hit and run driver that killed a motorcyclist on Friday night.

Officials with the Florida Highway Patrol say a driver in a 2017 Nissan Sentra violated the right of way at US-41 and Jacaranda Blvd, and hit a bike ridden by 67-year old Michael Shea.

Police say the car hit the left side of Shea’s motorcycle, sending him flying off the bike. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver fled the scene on foot. Anyone with information is asked to call the FHP at 239-938-1800.
