Coming up later this month, the Florida Department of Transportation plans to start an $18 million dollar road widening project in Venice.
FDOT crews will be widening US 41 from Center Road to Gulf Coast Boulevard. The road will go from a four to six lane road.
The department is hosting a public informational meeting tonight at the Venice community center from 5-7pm.
FDOT officials will be on hand to answer any questions people may have. Weather permitting, the project is set to be done in two years.
