The Florida Department of Transportation is looking to add a pair of rest areas along I-75 in Sarasota and Charlotte Counties. Currently, there are no rest stops traveling in either direction between Hillsborough and Lee County- a span of nearly 100 miles.
FDOT is hosting a public hearing Tuesday, asking for public input on both locations to put the rest areas and what they’d like to see them include. That public forum will start at 5pm at the Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center in Punta Gorda on Tuesday night.
