The FDLE is investigating a fake account created on YouTube that has some connections to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office. The account, which bears Sheriff Bill Prummell’s photo and name, made racist and sexist comments on a number of videos. On the sheriff’s office’s Facebook page, Prummell called the fake account disappointing and called on the community “to stand together and set positive examples for one another. ” The FDLE’s cyber team is now leading the investigation.
