A tragic incident occurred in Charlotte County as a motorcyclist lost their life in a collision with a pickup truck, resulting in a fiery accident on U.S. Highway 41.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident took place around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday when a 45-year-old North Fort Myers man was riding his motorcycle in the right lane of US-41, approaching Tangelo Road. Simultaneously, a 20-year-old man from Westwego, Louisiana, was driving a Ram 2500 pickup truck towing a trailer in the left lane, heading south.

Unexpectedly, the motorcyclist veered into the left lane and collided with the trailer being pulled by the pickup truck. The impact caused the rider to be thrown from his motorcycle, leading to a fire engulfing both vehicles.
