The former Punta Gorda Police Chief that was fired following the shooting death of an elderly woman during a citizens’ academy has now filed a complaint with the Florida Department Of Law Enforcement.
Tom Lewis has accused Captain Jason Ciaschini of perjury during the investigation concerning his role in the incident.
Lewis now says he “wants to get out the truth” about how 73-year old Mary Knowlton was shot and killed.
Lewis was fired along with the officer who fired the fatal shot, Lee Coel.
Lewis was already acquitted on culpable negligence charges- Coel goes on trial for manslaughter this year.
