Despite an ongoing case with the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, a Booker High School assistant principal who filed a discrimination complaint against the Sarasota County School District will remain on staff next year.

But Lyna Jimenez-Ruiz will not be an administrator any longer, but rather a teacher trainer for pupil services support.

Jimenez-Ruiz told the Herald-Tribune she still plans on filing a lawsuit against the county school district, despite her continued employment.

She was one of three women who filed a harrassment complaint against Todd Bowden, then just a finalist for the superintendent position.
