Englewood Beach To Re-Open

Englewood Beach in Florida, heavily damaged by Hurricanes Helene and Milton in 2024, will begin a phased reopening. Starting Wednesday, April 2, 2025, the southern entrance to the beach parking lot will reopen, offering limited parking and pedestrian access. Temporary restroom facilities, including portable toilets, will be available. Visitors are encouraged to use designated dune walk-through access points and stay alert to potential hazards.

To improve accessibility, Charlotte County Transit is launching a pilot park-and-ride shuttle service. Running Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the shuttle will depart from Tringali Park at 3460 N. Access Road in Englewood on the hour and return from Chadwick Park at the half-hour.

While the southern portion will reopen, the rest of Englewood Beach Park will remain closed due to ongoing safety concerns. County officials are working to repair damage to boardwalks, parking areas, and other amenities, with a full reopening expected within six months.

This gradual approach ensures public access while prioritizing visitor safety as recovery efforts progress.
