Three people are wanted by deputies in Charlotte County after they nearly walked out with more than $400 worth of items from a grocery store. Police say a man first walked into the Publix on Cochran Boulevard, grabbed laundry detergent, and walked out without paying. A couple minutes later, another man and woman walked in and filled a cart with steaks, scallops, easter chocolates, and toilet paper, and tried to walk out. When confronted, the woman hit the employee with the cart, left the items and ran off before fleeing in an old Jeep Cherokee. Anyone with information on the would-be shoplifters is asked to call police.
