A fire in Charlotte County destroyed two home on Christmas Eve.
Fire crews were called to a home on Elliott Street in Punta Gorda just after 7pm. There, crews saw heavy smoke fome from a house that was divided into two apartments.
Less than ten minutes after getting to the scene, the home became fully engulfed in flames. The front apartment was completely gutted, the rear unit had heavy smoke damage.
Fire officials said the fire was caused by an electrical issue in a wall outlet.
