Fire crews in Venice have released the cause of a Monday fire that officials first deemed suspicious.
Crews were called to the 700 block of Cypress Avenue around 630 Monday night. When firefighters reached the home, flames were shooting out of the roof, and there was an explosion.
It took crews around 20 minutes to get the fire under control. They say the blaze was caused by the misuse of an extension cord that had been run under a metal door.
