A 92-year-old Port Charlotte man is in serious condition after crashing his scooter on Saturday morning.
According to the FHP, 92-year old Victor Piperato was driving his 2006 Yamaha scooter southbound on Merrick Lane NW in Port Charlotte around 10:40 Saturday morning when he was hit by a 31-year old man backing out of a driveway.
The elderly man, who was not wearing a helmet, was charged for driving with a suspended license.
