Things seemed to be going too smoothly at the Florida Legislature and now an education bill may put a stop to all the smooth sailing. According to the Florida News Service, the Florida House has passed a bill that includes a voucher-like program for bullied students, and is tied to its budget plan. The bill has dozens of measures, including nearly $10 million for tutors for second through fifth graders who are struggling to read. Also, a measure titled “Hope Scholarships,” would allow bullied students in public schools to receive voucher-like scholarships to transfer to private schools.
