MANATEE COUNTY- A Manatee County teen is among 29 people nationwide suspected of falling ill during an E. coli outbreak linked to a peanut butter substitute.

14-year old Lily O’Neal suffered kidney failure, went into a coma, couldn’t talk and suffered temporary paralysis, her mother told the Bradenton Herald. The alleged culprit was I.M. Healthy SoyNut, a product that the CDC has linked to a multistate outbreak of E. coli. Despite the E.coli scare, I.M. Healthy products are still available for purchase in grocery stores and online.

O’Neal is the only Florida resident that was confirmed to have contracted E.coli from the product.
