Driver Cited In Bus Crash Involving Special Needs Kids

The driver of the car involved in the crash with the school bus in Sarasota Tuesday has been cited. 69-year-old Michael Rans of Indiana was cited for making a left turn in front of oncoming traffic. WENG reported Tuesday that the school bus was carrying 12 students from a special needs school. Seven children and two adults from the bus were transported to a local hospital. Additionally, two adults from another vehicle were also taken to a hospital for observation. One child remains in the hospital as does Rans. The school bus driver was admit to a hospital as well.
