A boat ran out of gas in Charlotte Harbor but the four people on board were rescued Monday night. Two adults and two children visiting from Texas had left Alligator Bay in a 16-foot vessel, bound for Cayo Costa late Monday morning. When they didn’t arrive back by sunset as expected, relatives notified authorities. By the time they were found by an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Air Station Clearwater at around 9 p.m., their boat had drifted about three and a half miles north of Cape Haze.
