Business remains steady in downtown Venice, one week after a major road project shut down the eastbound traffic along Venice Avenue.
City Engineer Kathleen Weeden told ABC-7 the businesses in downtown requested to have the eastbound side done first, to make sure that section is all but guaranteed to get done before the winter tourist season.
Weeden says the city has opened up additional parking at Centennial Park and there’s an active push to get people to shop local during the construction.
The eastbound construction is set to be done by November, with the whole project wrapped up by February.
